What's This About?

When I found out I was pregnant I began researching like crazy. What can I eat now? How will my body change? Can I still do yoga? What is childbirth like? What are the essentials I need for this baby? The list went on and on and somehow I felt pretty ready when my daughter was finally born.

Then, I had this beautiful baby and it occurred to me.... "What do I do with her now?!" How do I breastfeed in public? What's the best carrier for my baby and my back? How do I get her to sleep thru the night? (I'm still looking for this answer.) What kind of food do I feed her and when? What toys are best for her? What can I do to help my baby grow into the amazing woman I know she can be? But here's the catch.... I'm so busy dealing with this baby that I don't have all that leisure time to research like I used to and I'm going a little stir crazy in the house.

What I’d like is a day jam packed with education from experts about raising children, vendors with great products tested and proven to work with kids, other moms to socialize and create new friendships with in an inviting atmosphere for my baby and me.

That’s how the Baby Expo and Conference idea was born.

People say it all the time when you're expecting a baby. "Your whole world is about to change." I agree, it does change but one thing I didn't realize I'd need so much....other mothers. The quote "it takes a village," brings on a whole new meaning to me. Let's get together and meet other parents in this village we live in. Let's get out of the house (come hell or high water) and get together to exchange ideas, share stories and appreciate each other's accomplishments because it's not easy being a parent but I'm sure you can agree, it's the best job in the world.
